Experience

In every day job I ever had, I was the one who wrote the job manual or cookbook. That led to a career in teaching/training and writing course and presentation materials for students and instructors in everything from software to police training to bomb identification.

Rates

  • Heavy Editing: $0.03 per word, $7.50 per page (12 point Times New Roman, double spaced, 1-inch margins)

  • one-page flier advertising an event: $60
  • style your Word .doc copy for publishing: $2 per page

  • convert your Word .doc file to an InDesign file using your Word styles: $1 per page (includes layout for images, tables, Table of Contents, Index, Title Page, etc.)

A single page is typically defined as an 8.5×11″ page with standard margins and spacing, ~250 words.
 

Add-on Services

If you’ve hired me for Editing, you can add style and layout services at half price.

  • Implement Word Styles – add $1 per page
  • Document Layout in InDesign (for your publisher’s .pdf requirements), includes 300dpi images – add $0.50 per page

Payment Details

  • Pay online (50% up front, 50% upon completion)
  • One- or two-day turnaround in many cases
